Who are your teachers?

Teacher Tatyana Moffitt Moore (our Director) is a master teacher who especially loves bringing art and sensory adventures to the children. Our lead Sunflower teachers, Maleek Linwood and Madi Howard, are young professionals who teach with warmth and enthusiasm. In our Sweet Peas toddler classroom Tatyana, our lead teacher, is supported with two assistants, Brianna and Emma. We also work with trained therapy dogs in each classroom: Ruby Slippers and Pippin.

What is a regular day like?

The children are welcomed each day into our spacious outdoor garden, where they all have a quick toilet break, wash hands before saying a brief goodbye to their parents. They are then able to play freely, participate in organic art projects, or other imaginative play before having a morning snack. We have a story circle before lunch. Children who stay for full day or aftercare will go to rest time at 12:45 where they will hear a calming story before having a nap for 90 minutes. After nap time, the children enjoy a small snack before saying goodbye for the day at 4 p.m.

Do children who stay all day have to have rest time?

Yes. We do have a 90 minute nap time from 12:45 - 2:30 pm. Being at school is hard work for children. Being able to stop and close your eyes, or just lie still for a few minutes is a valuable ability. If we have students who sleep for a while, the other children will be able to move on to quiet play for a while either inside or outside after a 30 minute quiet rest.
